The President, The Senate and the Supreme Court

Way back in high school, I remember my teacher saying that there are three bodies composing the government: Executive, Legislative and Judiciary.  I don't remember what these bodies are technically called, I think its something like "pillars of government".  (I am tempted to Google now, but resisting!) And each of these bodies perform very defined functions distinct from one another. And most of all that I remember, the Supreme Court is just what its name is: supreme.  It cannot be questioned.  Because it is the defender of the Constitution, it is like the representation of the Constitution, the protector of all laws.   But now, I am confused.  The impeachment trial of Judge Corona has seemingly started the persecution of the Supreme Court.  By who?  No less than the President and the Senate. And my heart is sinking. I am an obedient follower.  I look up high to the authorities.  I give them my utmost respect and loyalty. U...

China, The Annoying Dragon

I couldn't care less about China. Way back then. But China is becoming so 'annoying' to me now I cannot just shrug it off without writing about it.  Maybe even after writing about it.  Not because it is so progressive economically.  But just because. Oh well, basically because it has an atheist government, a Communist ---something I pray would be completely, totally, be phased out forever from this human race.  Secondly, they build illegal drug laboratories here in our country then accuse us of slipping their illegal drugs back to their country (which in a funny way should be just right, rather than sell it here and destroy our people, why not destroy their own people with their own illegal drugs instead, right?) Thirdly, they ponder so seriously on the teachings of the Art of War book---and this I learned from my former hard-core Chinese boss who demanded me to read that book as my first month orientation in his office (which gave me an immediate impression th...

Kim Jong Eun and Communism

Today is the feast of Sto, Nino, the little Jesus.  I thought of writing about kids but it just did not feel right.  Somehow, the youngest leader in the world has crossed my mind, the Communist leader, Kim Jong Eun of North Korea. Then immediately, my young school days flashed back.  I remembered our school having us stand up straight saying the Angelus at 12 noon wherever we maybe in the school campus.  I think we did that for about a year.  I did not understand why then, except for the fact that my school was a catholic school and that must be it.  Years after, I realized that that Angelus was for the conversion of Russia.  And it did succeed converting Russia, breaking the Communism there. Thingking about it now, I strongly feel and believe that we must pray for Kim Jong Eun, him being the newly elected leader of the seat of communism now.  He's just 28.  I've even read somewhere over the net that a classmate of his in Europe said he ...

Philippines Overpopulation or City Overconcentration?

I wanted to write about this perfectly. I was thinking of posting this to challenge the various intellects of our government: those overly-cocky with their knowledge on the matter, those who are secretly confused but making a stand outloud just for political reasons, and those who realized late what are factually correct but are embarrassed to change sides. So I tried first to research how the world defines these words: overpopulation and over-concentration. I had to stop after few minutes. I realized that the definitions of the world just don't matter. I don't want to be like those leaders getting lost in the definitions of it all that they miss the very simple practical meanings of the words to a common ordinary person like me. I know the meaning of the words by heart. I have experienced the meanings myself. I grew up in the city. Have moved from the capital to its adjacent cities too from time to time, as work dictated. I know what's in it. Rare are ...

NBI Clearance Processing and Fixers

Recently, the local news have been talking about slow processing of clearance at NBI.  There were lots of mentioning about already-computerized system, big funding and stuff and yet still inefficient output.  And I started thinking, these officials think so big all the time that the simplest possible means to help better the system is sometimes overlooked. There is a cheaper way of expediting government papers that does not even have to sound complicated.  It does not always have to require big funding if they really want to help the common filipino lining up early in the morning in government premises for clearance applications.  And that goes for other branches like SSS, BIR, etc. I, myself, was able to come up with a very simple design that does not even necessitate a special software just to expedite a bit the application step for a clearance, which consequently helps also in the elimination of fixers.   The idea simply involves the utilization of inte...
