Work itself.
That is the best prayer for work.
Most often than not, we busy people get to pray only at the end of the day, when all our tasks for the day are done, just when we are about to drift to dreamland. More often than not, once we lay our tired body on the bed, we struggle to finish the rosary. We even wake up the next morning with the rosary at the end of the bed or anywhere but our hands, convincing us that we didn't finish it or maybe worst, have not even started it that night! haha

But what can we do? We wake up in the morning and we're always in a hurry. Seems like its only at night that we can really have time with Him, right?
So what now?
Actually, we can have meeting with God the whole day everyday, weekdays. Working days.
What am I saying???
I am talking about taking our career work as a form of prayer. Somewhere in the Catholic world, I've learned that we can glorify God by giving our best, our heart and soul according to whichever status we are in. Even Mama Mary said that we should serve God in whatever status we are in. So if we are in the employed' status, then that means we should serve God at work place, giving our best in our work..
And so I ask myself, how do we pray to God while working?
Simply do what we are mandated to do at our work places. Whole heartedly. In silence, we can make our daily work life a living offering to God, a prayer in its own form. The blessed Mary said that we should do well in whatever status of life we are in. That is in itself a living prayer.
We can even take our daily work as a rosary prayer with all its challenges as mysteries. The difficulty of getting to the last bead is like the difficulty of getting through the day at work and yet, we push ourselves to getting there. The distraction we get from our surroundings when we pray the rosary is like the distractions we get from our workmates who pose as challenges to us.
Instead of cursing the challenges we face at work, bless it. I was told by a priest friend that more powerful than cursing is blessing. If the one you bless does not deserve it, that blessing will come back to you.
Sometimes, the longer we stay in our company, the more we see challenges that can put us down, the more we complain. But if we take each day as a prayer to God, we become stronger in battling these challenges. We become proactive. We become worthy employees of the company just as we become worth the trust, worth the job blessed us, given by our Big Boss in heaven.
Just like praying a rosary too, we sometimes have our 'sleepy' moments at work. Moments when we forget who we are dealing with and instead serve our own interest. It is during these moments too when we struggle to give meaning to what we are doing, to get aligned with what our 'boss' wants to hear from us and wishes to hear from us.
Praying is a way of showing gratitude to God. If we are grateful for the work God has blessed us with, what better way of showing your gratitude than to let your daily work be your daily prayer to God.
